We have led.
We have led the shipbuilding and marine industry based on technology and trust.
We will move on.
We will take the lead in the changing the future to enhance competitiveness in the shipbuilding and marine industry in the international market.
There is an era of revolution called the International Environmental Regulation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The shipbuilding and marine industry are also changing their paradigm from traditional to eco-friendly and ship smartification.
In line with this trend, we are leading the development of eco-friendly future technologies and growing with the shipbuilding and marine companies.
We are the Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute, a global partner for eco-friendly shipbuilding and marine equipment.
The unceasing challenges and innovations of the Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute, set in the sea of infinite possibilities, have established it as Korea's leading professional production technology research institute.
The Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute is leading the technological development and R&D of the shipbuilding and marine industries based on its expertise as Korea's only shipbuilding and marine research institute.
Starting with the acquisition of permission to establish a corporation by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy in 2001, the Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute completed its research institute in Yeongdo and Noksan in Busan in 2004, and through the opening of the Electronic Equipment Testing and Certification Center for ships in 2008, we secured international quality and reliability certification in 2008, and enhanced international competitiveness.
By establishing Head Offices in Jeonnam in 2009, Gyeongnam in 2010, Jeonbuk in 2011, and Ulsan in 2012, we laid the foundation for nationwide company support and raised our R&D capabilities for shipbuilding and marine equipment to the next level.
The opening of the Performance Advancement Test and Research Center and the Ship Ballast Water Land Test Facility in 2016 and the opening of the Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Long Life Technology Support Center in 2018 provided an opportunity for high value-added transformation for the Korean shipbuilding and marine industry.
In 2019, we opened the Korea-Russia Marine Equipment Center to cross the Korean Sea and strive for technological innovation through international collaboration, and we are expanding our R&D capabilities for small ships and offshore equipment by opening the Small Ship Marine Test Demonstration Support Center in Jeonnam.
By establishing the Acoustic Test Building in Busan in 2020, the Small and Medium Marine Equipment Quality Advancement Center in Jeonbuk in 2021, and the Gyongnam Water Tank Test Center, we are further expanding the foundation and capabilities of supporting companies outside Korea.
Based on this, we support the eco-friendliness of the shipbuilding and marine industry, the development of convergence technology through smartification, environmental regulation and safety, the development of advanced technologies, and the acquisition of test certification and international certification by enhancing reliability.
The Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute, which has played a leading role in the shipbuilding and marine industry by creating new future values based on core technology and trust, is preparing for the upcoming changes.
Our mission is to contribute to enhancing the international competitiveness of the shipbuilding and marine equipment industry.
This has become the driving force that moves us, KOMERI, and compelled us to constantly innovate and challenge ourselves.
Our vision of "the global partner for eco-friendly shipbuilding and marine equipment" will be the cornerstone for the future of the sustainable shipbuilding and marine industry and the strategic channel connecting KOMERI future goals and reality.
We will take the lead in responding to international environmental regulations and lead the development of future technologies, go beyond Korea to the global market, and play a role as a sustainable partner by supporting our shipbuilding and marine companies.
